There could be several things happening around us, but we don’t really intend to visualise those. Definitely there are instances where people dream of certain incidents or achievements or pleasures of life such as food or sex. However, most often, these are the thoughts played in the unconscious mind at a time when the conscious mind is not control at all.
What can be done to make the unconscious mind believe that the events are actually happening, and let the conscious mind actually feed these thoughts & visuals. That would be true process of Visualisation. But, for this to happen, the conscious mind must know what we are trying to visualise and why. The how part if easier than expected.
The very first step take in this regard is to know what you want. It can be done in a series of simple steps, to be followed everyday for about 30 minutes.
Start your day with a pen & a diary, and perform these exact steps for 15 days continuously. The best results are achieved if the steps are performed at the same time every day, and it would be even better if it is performed just before the sunrise.
Step 1
Write down at least 2 things that you could have done better the previous day and wha could be improved. Do not get distracted by things done on other days that could have been done better, just focus on the exact previous day. The activity could be as simple as making a phone call or as difficult as taking a complex decision for the future. Think about doing the same task again and what are the improvements you would do. This step is extremely is important in cleaning & clearing out the thoughts of guilt or failure or success that may be there in the mind already.
Step 2
Write down at least 2 things that you plan to do today to either make more time or make more money or gain more happiness for yourself. These could be simple things as donating something to a needy person or making a career decision or learning a new skill or launching a new product or becoming more disciplined or anything else. Whatever you write, it should be measurable.
Step 3
Write down at least 2 things that you plan to achieve in next 7 days of your life. It could be as simple as making a certain amount of money or an accomplishment at office or as complex as a fulfilling someone’s dreams. Whatever you write, it should be realistic & measurable.
Step 4
Write down at least 2 things that you plan to achieve in next 12 months of your life. It could be income goals, health goals, happiness goals, family goals, charity goals or anything else. Whatever you write, it should be specific, measurable & achievable in a year.
Step 5
Write down at least 2 things that you plan to achieve in next 5 years of your life. It could be related to big decisions of life, life goals, plans of marriage, education, starting a family or anything. Whatever you write, it should be specific, measurable & time bound.
You can write as many number of things at every steps as you like, but you must write at least 2 things at every step.
Repeat the same steps every day for 30 minutes as your first activity in the morning when you wake up. Do not read your pages from the previous days. Just keep writing on a fresh page in the diary everyday for 15 days. The results are going to surprise you.
In 97% of the cases, it has been found that the 2 or 3 things that people write as the 12 months targets or 5 years goals on the 15th day are different from the ones that they wrote on the 1st day. Also, it has been observed that often people become extremely specific about their targets & goals after crossing 10th day of this practice.
Take the first step, and then we would move into the next step of the process of Visualisation. Share your experiences in the comment section.
